About Painting in the Vineyard

Art Spot on Wheels is a full-service art studio operating in Solvang and on wheels. You’ll find us throughout Santa Barbara county, with painting events in wine country, beach country and basically anywhere gorgeous. We’ve combined some of the best things in the world: Art, Wine, Nature, and People…and we want you to join us!

Not just another paint and sip class, our signature Painting in the Vineyard events will delight your senses with fantastic views and delicious wines from local wineries. During these three hour sessions, you’ll taste the estate wine as you experience the beauty of our valley vineyards and learn to paint the view in front of you, yourself! You’ll walk away with a masterpiece of your own to commemorate the occasion.

If you don’t see a painting in the vineyard event on our calendar, feel free to reach out about a private painting in the vineyard event for you and anywhere from 1 -30 of your best friends 😉

We also know how to help you celebrate. Book a  private painting event for birthdays, fundraisers, bridal showers, team-building events and more and make your celebration the talk of the town.

If you’re thinking, “I don’t have an artistic bone in my body,” or “but, I don’t know how to paint,” don’t worry! A trained artist will walk you through the entire painting process step-by-step. Even if you’ve never painted before, you’ll be amazed at what you can create! Check our calendar for locations, details and to make a reservation.

Plein air style is our jam. We paint what we see….whatever this particular day is serving up in the way of light and clouds, blooms and branches, dry or lush. It’s the way we capture the moment. It’s how we stay present and grateful for today.

Art Spot on Wheels (formerly Gypsy Studios) is really all about making a space for creative expression in an environment that is real and now and hits every sense with which a human is gifted…it’s about the experience. And, it’s about leaving a painting class or a vineyard painting session with a newfound appreciation for the world we live in and our own unique creative contribution. It’s an exercise in remembering that we are special, important and unique…that we take up an important space on this earth and that we have been designed to be in connection with that space.
