Grimm’s Bluff Vineyard was founded by Rick and Aurora Grimm, after their move from Europe to Santa Barbara — inspired by a passion for minimal-intervention, terroir-driven wines. Located on a 246-acre ranch in the southeast corner of the Happy Canyon AVA, the 16.5-acre vineyard sits on an upper mesa overlooking the Santa Ynez River at 850 feet above sea level. After extensive site and soil study, the vineyard was planted in 2012 with primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc, and the first harvest followed in 2014. Farmed biodynamically and organically from the beginning, Grimm’s Bluff is dedicated to sustainable practices and crafting pure, expressive wines that reflect both the land and the families values.
